PTO

We have a very active Parent Teacher Organization at Meadows. We have general meetings four times a year on Tuesday night at 6:00p.m.  The PTO helps provide Meadows with many special activities and extra teaching supplies that would not be possible due to the lack of funds and manpower.

 

PTO provides volunteers for many activities at the school including classroom readers, classroom assistance for special projects, supervision for extra recess incentives and book fairs. PTO also provides programs throughout the year to entertain and inform the staff and students of Meadows Elementary. PTO also remembers teachers with small token gifts during Teacher Appreciation Week for their hard work and dedication to our school.

 

Sally D. Meadows PTO is an important part of Sally D. Meadows Elementary. This organization is made up of parents and teachers working together to make Meadows the best school it can be. The major fundraiser is held in the fall. Throughout the year, PTO collects Box tops for Education, Campbell's' Soup labels, Tyson's chicken labels & used printer or toner cartridges, and Bi Lo monies for school. These are ongoing fundraisers along with our weekly food nights( see below). Money raised by the PTO is used to fund student programs such as ACE Club, Accelerated reader parties, Breakfast with the Principal & various events to reward good behavior. In the past, PTO has helped to fund field trips for each grade along with furnishing each teacher money to buy supplies for their classroom or students.
                                                

  • Executive Board meetings are held at 5:00 on the date of the PTO meeting. 

  • The meeting begins at 6:00. 

  • Letters are sent home on the Thursday prior to the next PTO meeting.
