Writers Incorporated would like to congratulate the 2015 winners of the Young Georiga Authors Writing Competition at Vidalia High School. The purpose of this statewide contest is to encourage students to develop enthusiasm for and expertise in their wriitng, to provide a context to celebrate their writing successes and to recognize student achievement in arts and academics. The winners are:
12th Grade: Daquain Jordan - "The Feelings of Love and Hate" (prose fiction)
11th Grade: Luckia Howard - "Strength" (poem)
10th Grade: Michaela Thompson - "The Knight and the Slave" (poem)
9th Grade: Jeremy Cowart - "Cloudmarch" (prose fiction)
Each grade level winner for the local contest will receive a monetary award of $25.00 compliments of Writers, Inc., and have their entries submitted for judging at the region level of competition. Writers Incorporated is a student-founded, student-centered organization at Vidalia High School designed to promote the development of written expression and the publication of student writing beyond the local realm.
