Welcome to Vidalia City Schools, a system with a history of deep pride and outstanding performance. Since its establishment as an independent city school system in 1906, teachers and administrators have joined with parents and community to provide challenging instruction and a broad array of extracurricular activities. In fact, Vidalia High School has won the Georgia High School Association Regional All Activities trophy for six of the past twelve years, and VHS has always finished in the top three high schools within our region. This award reflects student achievement in both literary and athletic competitions.

Students will find opportunities to learn, to grow socially and intellectually, and to become independent thinkers. They will also find clean, safe, and welcoming facilities and campuses. Most importantly, students and parents will find staff, teachers, and administrators who want you to succeed. My staff at the central office stands ready to help as well, and I urge you to get to know our schools, teachers, administrators, and programs. We succeed only when you succeed. Allow us to help you make the future bright for every student who enters our system.

Once again, welcome to Vidalia City Schools. I encourage you and your children to join us as we continue to "Build on a Tradition of Excellence".

Dr. J. Garrett Wilcox, Superintendent
